NOTICE: Reduction in monitoring locations

Due to reductions in funding, there has been a significant reduction in monitoring locations. SUN1, CAP1, and FRP1 (the water level stations with associated met stations) have been decommissioned, and SUN3, SUN2, and CAP3 have been removed. However, we are pleased to report that CAP2 and FRP2 have been serviced and are continuing to report data on ocean and atmospheric conditions. We deeply regret the necessary reduction in Caro-COOPS activities and any difficulties this creates for our users. However, we are pleased to be able to report that we should be able to continue operations at this reduced scale for the foreseeable future. We will be working to further build upon Caro-COOPS and our partners in the region to establish a broader southeastern regional system.
